Hepatitis B is a viral liver infection. Indonesia has medium-to-high endemicity (5–10% HbsAg-positive).
HbsAg (Hepatitis B Surface Antigen) marks active infection. A positive result means active virus — needs follow-up (HBV DNA, liver function, ultrasound).
Vaccination: 3 doses (0, 1 month, 6 months) gives lifetime protection in >90%. Mandatory for healthcare workers, newborns, partners of carriers, people who inject drugs.
Screening recommended: premarital, pregnancy, before tattoos/piercings, medical workers, history of transfusion before 1990.
HbsAg is included in MCU Package B (Rp 280,000) and C (Rp 399,000).
