A lipid profile measures the four blood fats that drive your risk of heart disease and stroke. Annual checks are recommended for every adult over 30.
Measured: Total cholesterol (<200 mg/dL), HDL (“good”, ≥40 men, ≥50 women), LDL (“bad”, <100 mg/dL), Triglycerides (<150 mg/dL).
Preparation: fast 9–12 hours, avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Plain water is fine.
